The Concept

Today we present to you a project in which we had the honor of participating and of which we are very proud, a patent of all Molise origin, innovative and versatile: CONDOart.

CONDOart is a pioneering project of architectural regeneration and fusion of the same with the language of visual arts; in fact we can observe that the word itself is the union of the terms "Condominium" and "Art".

How it is born

The idea of creating "condominiums-works of art" came in 2013, the year in which Vittorio Morelli, an entrepreneur with a strong sensitivity for beauty and aesthetics and creator of the patent, went to London to evaluate a real estate investment and he comes across, almost by chance, an art gallery: thus begins his passion for contemporary art and his path as a collector. In the same year, in Barcelona, he was impressed by the aesthetic dialogue established between Casa Milà by Antoni Gaudí and a contemporary building close to it, also conceived in an artistic key. This "meeting" was, for Morelli, an opportunity to reflect on how to intervene on a building owned by his real estate company located in Corso Mazzini in Campobasso, the capital of the Molise region, previously used as the headquarters of the regional management of Unicredit.

"The idea stems from wanting to make real estate and art coexist together", explains Vittorio Morelli. "I thought that buildings should not be conceived only as objects intended for housing, but that they should also be pleasant on the outside, thus transforming them into real works of art that can benefit the entire city community".

Lighting solutions

As we know, in the realization of all architectural works, one of the main aspects capable of defining and distinguishing the finished product is lighting. Lighting which, to integrate and complete the project, must be studied according to the objective to be achieved and obtained with quality products and materials, aesthetically valid and efficient.

In the design of CONDOart a particularly complex challenge was precisely the construction of the electrical and lighting systems, the study and research of "light" as the architect Di Cristofaro intended it: designing a system capable of guaranteeing correct lighting environments without altering, on the contrary, capable of enhancing the architecture.

This is what was kept in mind in all three main themes of the project:

The FACADE

Characterized by a historic "square" effect, it was distorted by the artist thanks to the insertion of a theory of waves that recalls the shape of human DNA, a spiral made of bricks; here it was decided to insert specific outdoor spotlights positioned so as not to be visible to the naked eye but whose light gives the right attention to the work of art at all hours of the day

The ENTRANCE HALL

For this environment the goal was to give the tenant the feeling of living an "experience", an emotion that is renewed every time it is walked. The floor, the walls and the ceiling, also designed as canvases on which the artist has expressed himself, envelop the person who passes through it.The light, in this case, is inserted in such a way as to underline, emphasize specific signs and guide the visitor in the meanders of the work;

The CORRIDORS

They have been interpreted as a place where art is a connecting element between the various housing units. The design of these environments was measured in the thorough study of the images shown on one side of the corridors to form focal points and points of interest and in the search for equally captivating lighting, developed in asymmetrical light cuts in the ceiling.

Starting from the lighting calculation, Luce Più made itself available also in the execution of experimental tests on site and in supporting the careful choice of lighting fixtures which resulted in cutting-edge articles in LED technology, Italian leaders in quality, sustainability and efficiency.

Our job was, above all, to realize the designer's idea and to guarantee a quality result that lasted over time, to develop and implement solutions far from common places, in harmony with architecture, the city and the people.

The credit for this work certainly goes to its creator, Vittorio Morelli, as well as to the collaboration with the three fundamental figures of the project: the childhood friend and trusted designer Arch. Jacopo Di Cristofaro, the trusted designer of technological structures and systems Ing. Alessandro Rizzo and, last but not least, Elio Cavone, the contemporary artist who gave his creativity to the work.

We take the opportunity of the publication of this article to thank them for offering us the opportunity to participate in such an incredible and innovative work and for having relied on our professionalism. The realization of the CondoArt was completed in 2020 and the project is protected by international Copyright.
